Lake California: Living the Dream, One Serene Day at a Time

Lake California, a gem nestled between Redding and Red Bluff, is not just a place to live—it's a lifestyle. As a resident of this private gated community, I am privileged to enjoy its myriad amenities and the natural splendor that it has to offer, all within an arm's reach of my home.

This peaceful oasis spans approximately 5,950 acres, providing 2,200 plus homes with jaw-dropping vistas of the majestic Mt. Lassen, Mt. Shasta, and the Trinity/Siskiyou Mountain Ranges. From my porch, I am treated daily to these spectacular sights—reassuring, constant, and as tranquil as the first light of dawn.

But the beauty of Lake California is more than skin-deep—it's the beating heart of a community bursting with a rich diversity of interests. From the avid aviator to the zealous zumba enthusiast, the community encourages everyone to pursue their passion, fostering a sense of unity in our shared enjoyment of these pursuits.

The central jewel of Lake California is the grand lake, where residents can partake in boating, fishing, or just a leisurely swim. Often, we overlook the extraordinary privilege of having such natural beauty at our doorstep—a beautiful lake, the stunning Sacramento River, sprawling trails for hiking or horseback riding, all under an azure sky that graces us with sunshine for an average of 250 days a year!

Our newly remodeled Lake Club is an emblem of the communal spirit we cherish here. It features a great room, a lounge with a full bar, a commercial kitchen, a recreation room, and a picturesque patio by the water, offering a panoramic view that is nothing short of enchanting.

The Lounge, our community hub, is the venue of choice for numerous fundraisers, live music nights, and group socials. For the epicurean in us, The Landing serves up an array of delicious dishes, from bar snacks to full-course meals, prepared by our talented Chef Bryan. And let's not forget the occasional live music and karaoke nights—free events that see our community come together in joyous revelry.

One minor gripe one might have—and this is a testament to our vibrant community rather than a drawback—is the struggle to decide which of the wealth of activities to indulge in. Should you play a set on the tennis courts, take a horse for a ride at the equestrian center, land your private plane on the airstrip, or head to one of the world-famous fishing holes at the Sacramento River access site? Decisions, decisions!

So, if you're yearning for a tranquil lifestyle, where the serenity of nature meets the warmth of community living, consider Lake California. You will be joining not just a gated community, but a family—a family that values harmony, shared interests, and the natural beauty of our surroundings. Here in Lake California, we are not just residents. We are custodians of a peaceful, vibrant, and inclusive way of life.
